Privacy

Privacy.

Short version: this site is a personal portfolio. It uses analytics, but does not sell or share your data, and does not set advertising cookies.

What this site collects

  • Cloudflare Web Analytics — page-view counts, referrers, country-level location, and broad device type. No cookies. No personal identifiers. The data is aggregated by Cloudflare and used to understand which pages are read.
  • Google Analytics 4 — page-view and engagement events. GA4 sets cookies on your browser (typically _ga and _ga_*), and may collect your IP address (truncated by Google), device/browser metadata, and a session identifier. Used for the same purpose: understanding readership.
  • Speaker booking form — only fires if you fill it in and submit. The fields you enter (name, email, organisation, event details) are emailed directly to Mathew. They are not stored in a database. The Cloudflare Worker that handles the form briefly records your IP for rate-limiting purposes (10 minutes, then deleted).
  • Cloudflare Turnstile on the booking form — a privacy-preserving CAPTCHA alternative. No advertising tracking.

What this site does not do

  • Sell or share your data with third parties beyond the Google and Cloudflare services listed above.
  • Set advertising cookies or run any ad networks.
  • Track you across other websites.
  • Build a marketing profile of you.

Opting out

If you'd rather not be counted in analytics, browser-level Do-Not-Track preferences, ad-blockers, or extensions like Google's GA opt-out will block both GA4 and (typically) Cloudflare Web Analytics. Submitting the booking form is always opt-in.

You can also on this site at any time.
